After Livramento withdrew from the World Cup squad, Tuchel chose to call up centre-back Trevoh Chalobah instead of bringing in another specialist right-back, for example
Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Tuchel said it was too soon to determine the extent of Quansah’s injury right after the match and, with the last-32 tie only four days away, the Bayer Leverkusen defender is a doubt.
He described Quansah’s issue as a typical ankle sprain causing pain, noting the player has experienced it before and suggesting recovery should take days. Quansah had his leg elevated and iced.
Tuchel admitted concern over the right-back situation, pointing to yet another injury in that role.
He added that both Reece James and Jarell Quansah face tight turnarounds to be ready, but stressed the staff will find solutions.
