Pascal Struijk joins…

Brighton have completed the signing of Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £20m. The 26-year-old centre-back has agreed a five-year deal with the Seagulls, having been under contract at Elland Road until the end of the 2026-27 season.

Struijk joined Leeds’ under-23s from Ajax in January 2018 and progressed to the first team, making 196 appearances for the club, including 34 in the Premier League last season.

Head coach Fabian Hürzeler said Struijk fits the profile Brighton targeted this summer: a player with Premier League experience, strong defensive qualities, composure on the ball, and his best years ahead. He also highlighted Struijk’s leadership, noting he wore the captain’s armband at times for Leeds, and called him an excellent addition he’s eager to work with.

The move follows Brighton’s £52m sale of centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke to Tottenham earlier in the summer.
