Will a set

Imagination, delivery, and a clinical finish.

With Grant on board, Celtic have arguably secured last season’s best set-piece coach in the Premiership—one major box ticked.

They also have Arne Engels, a player capable of producing devastating dead-ball routines.

The Belgian midfielder logged the league’s third-highest number of successful corners last season and ranked among the Premiership’s top 10 for chances created from set plays.

Only Rangers’ Emmanuel Fernandez and Hearts’ Findlay scored more from corners than Celtic’s Benjamin Nygren, while Daizen Maeda ranks in the division’s top five for headed attempts.

In other words, Celtic have plenty of targets to attack quality deliveries.

However, with Engels and Maeda both linked with summer moves, the club may need to replace two players who significantly impact both open play and set pieces.

As fans grow impatient with the slow summer, there’s also curiosity about how much prioritizing Grant’s expertise will shape recruitment.
