Tens of thousands of ecstatic fans greeted Cape Verde’s national team on their return after a landmark World Cup campaign.
The Blue Sharks landed in the capital, Praia, on Sunday, following their elimination in a thrilling contest against defending champions Argentina.
Supporters turned the airport into a festive scene, beating drums, dancing, chanting, and waving the national flag.
Goalkeeper Vozinha, whose performances drew global notice, said it was an immense joy to be celebrating with their people.
