Senegal have dismissed head coach Pape Thiaw following their round-of-32 elimination at the 2026 World Cup.
Thiaw, who took charge in December 2024, oversaw defeats to France and Norway in the opening group matches.
A 5-0 victory over Iraq earned Senegal progression as one of the best third-placed teams.
In the last 32, they led Belgium 2-0 but conceded twice late on before losing 3-2 to an extra-time penalty.
After the exit, midfielder Pape Gueye said he would take a break from international duty while the current staff remained in place.
The Senegal Football Federation said it had removed Thiaw after a thorough review of results and future prospects, calling the decision in the best interests of Senegalese football.
