Manchester United has officially signed midfielder Andrey Santos from Chelsea, as confirmed by the club.
According to sources, the transfer fee is around £48 million ($64 million), plus an additional £2 million in possible add-ons, bringing the 22-year-old Brazilian to Old Trafford.
Having joined Chelsea in 2023, Santos made 28 Premier League appearances before his transfer to United.
United’s interest in Santos intensified after missing out on Mateus Fernandes, who moved to Tottenham earlier in the transfer window.
In a statement on Manchester United’s official website, Santos expressed: “Everything about Manchester United is extraordinary; it feels incredible to join a club that has been home to some of my greatest idols.”
“As a midfielder, I’m truly excited about the chance to learn from Michael Carrick, who is the ideal coach to help me elevate my career and pursue my ambitions.”
“I’ve heard so much about the club’s ambition and the fantastic atmosphere here. I recognize the strength of the team and I eagerly look forward to collaborating with my teammates to compete for the greatest honors.”

Santos is the latest addition to United’s squad this summer as the club seeks to enhance Michael Carrick’s lineup ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.
Sources indicate that United are currently not pursuing a transfer for Atalanta midfielder Éderson.
The two clubs had agreed on a fee of £35 million ($47 million) for the Brazilian international before the World Cup, but the deal has since stalled.
United officials have not specified the cause of the delay, but have not ruled out the possibility of resuming negotiations later in the summer.
Furthermore, the Red Devils are in advanced discussions to sign Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa, according to ESPN’s sources.
United is prepared to trigger a £35 million ($47 million) release clause in the Belgian midfielder’s contract. While Villa wishes to retain the 29-year-old, sources say he has expressed a desire to explore the opportunity to join Old Trafford.
