World Cup 2026 final to…

The half-time break at Sunday’s World Cup final is expected to run 20 to 25 minutes. An 11-minute Super Bowl-style show, co-headlined by Madonna, Shakira and K-pop group BTS, will take place during the interval at New York New Jersey Stadium.

Fifa sources suggest the break will be about 20 minutes, though one option under consideration is the usual 15-minute interval followed by the 11-minute performance. The Laws of the Game, set by Ifab, cap half-time at 15 minutes.

At last year’s Club World Cup final in New Jersey, also organised by Fifa, half-time stretched to 24 minutes due to a show featuring Coldplay, J Balvin, Doja Cat, Tems and Emmanuel Kelly.

Justin Bieber was added to Sunday’s lineup last week. The show will also feature Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus with Coldplay, curated by singer Chris Martin.

The final kicks off at 15:00 local time (20:00 BST), with a closing ceremony beginning at 13:30 local (18:30 BST). Performers for the ceremony include Tom Cruise, Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, Robbie Williams and IShowSpeed, and Jennifer Hudson will sing the United States national anthem.

Spain reached the final by beating France 2-0 in Dallas on Tuesday. They will face the winner of England versus Argentina, who play in Atlanta on Wednesday (20:00 BST).
