Motherwell have transferred midfielder Elliot Watt to Turkish Super Lig side Samsunspor for an undisclosed fee, after what he described as a year that transformed both his career and his life.
The 26-year-old Scot has signed a four-year deal with Samsunspor, who finished seventh in Turkey’s 18-team top flight last season.
Preston-born Watt arrived at Motherwell last summer following his departure from Burton Albion and made 42 appearances as the club secured fourth place in the Scottish Premiership and reached the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals.
The Scotland Under-21 international told Motherwell’s website he wanted to thank everyone connected with the club for the past 12 months, which he said had been life- and career-changing.
