Spain and Lamine Yamal have gone from strength to strength during the tournament, leaving the young star with the world at his feet and the game’s two biggest trophies already to his name.

Yamal is still unbeaten for his country across 28 competitive outings. He has started 13 major tournament matches and won them all—the longest perfect starting record for any European at such events.
Alongside 19-year-old teammate Pau Cubarsi, he became just the fourth and fifth teenagers to start and win a World Cup final, following Pelé in 1958, Italy’s Giuseppe Bergomi in 1982, and France’s Kylian Mbappé in 2018.
After the match, Spain coach Luis de la Fuente voiced his sincere appreciation for Yamal.
He said the youngster’s performances would accelerate his growth and make him an even better footballer than he already is.
De la Fuente also praised his selflessness for the team, stressing how vital that is to the squad, and concluded that Yamal delivered a superb World Cup.

Former England goalkeeper and BBC Sport pundit Joe Hart put it succinctly.
Hart noted that Yamal neither flinched nor reacted, stood his ground, and refused to be rattled despite the physical attention—an outstanding display.
He added that, at just 19, it was a perfect day for Yamal—evidence he has already achieved almost everything.
With nearly his entire career ahead of him, and guided by experienced teammates such as captain and player of the tournament Rodri, Yamal looks poised to collect many more honors before he is done.
