Manchester City has officially secured the signing of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, the club confirmed.
Anderson has joined the Etihad Stadium on a five-year contract, lasting until 2031, for a transfer fee of £116 million ($154 million).
This deal set a record for a British player when finalized in June, yet was later eclipsed by Morgan Rogers‘ transfer of £117 million ($156 million) from Aston Villa to Chelsea.
“It’s a club built for winning trophies and competing at the highest level,” Anderson shared. “That’s thrilling for any footballer. I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and am determined to justify the trust that City has placed in me.”
The agreement with Forest was reached during the World Cup, and Anderson completed his medical at England‘s training facility in Kansas City.

Anderson was also pursued by Manchester United, but the 23-year-old stated that the decision became clear once he learned of City’s interest.
“City is one of the world’s biggest clubs with an outstanding squad that excels in every position,” Anderson said. “As soon as I knew they wanted me, I was fully committed to making this transfer a reality.”
