RB Leipzig’s 19-year-old Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande has reached a personal agreement with Real Madrid after Paris St-Germain stepped away from the chase.
Liverpool had previously pursued Diomande, seeing a £69m offer turned down in June, while PSG were also in the mix.
With Liverpool shifting focus elsewhere, PSG chose not to engage in a bidding war with Real, and their final £102.5m proposal was rejected on Sunday.
Madrid have now settled personal terms with Diomande on a deal reportedly structured similarly to Jude Bellingham’s, featuring performance-related incentives that scale up over time.
Real are set to pay in excess of £100m for Diomande, who arrived at Leipzig from Spanish side Leganes last summer on a five-year contract.
Sources close to Real say lead figures Jose Angel and Juni Calafat have monitored Diomande for roughly five years, and that their move was not a response to his World Cup displays.
Leipzig worked to keep the forward but view the level of interest—and the prospective record fee—from Europe’s top clubs as exceptional and difficult to refuse.
Diomande was named the Bundesliga’s young player of the season for 2025-26 after recording 12 goals and eight assists last campaign.
He left Ivory Coast for a U.S. academy in 2025 before joining Leganes.
