Juve Interested in…

Juventus has expressed interest in acquiring Joshua Zirkzee, a forward from Manchester United, according to sources for ESPN.

Manchester United is receptive to offers for the Netherlands international, preferring a direct transfer. In contrast, Juventus is considering various options, including a potential season-long loan that could include an obligation or option for a permanent deal.

ESPN’s sources indicate that while Juventus has yet to submit a formal offer, United acknowledges their interest.

Zirkzee has returned for preseason training and notably scored during the recent 5-0 victory over Rosenborg.

At 25 years old, Zirkzee has had difficulty establishing himself at Old Trafford, tallying only five goals in 56 Premier League appearances over the past two years.

He joined the club from Bologna for a transfer fee of £36.5 million ($48.5 million) in July 2024.

Under head coach Michael Carrick, who took the helm in January, Zirkzee has started just one match—a 0-0 stalemate against Sunderland in May.

Sources suggest that United plans to seek a replacement for Zirkzee should he depart this summer.

Benjamin Sesko was the preferred striker choice for Carrick last season, although he has not played in preseason matches against Wrexham and Rosenborg as he continues to recover from an injury that sidelined him for the final three games of last season.
