Fulham have completed the signings of Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios from Real Madrid on five-year contracts.
Garcia, 22, featured 39 times for Madrid last season, scoring eight goals. The Spain international, who earned his first cap in June, will reunite with new Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa in a deal reported to be around £34m. He said he’s thankful for the club’s and Arbeloa’s trust and eager to begin.
Garcia, who shared top-scorer honors at last summer’s Club World Cup, arrives alongside former Madrid teammate Palacios. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has signed through 2031, with Fulham holding a 12-month extension option for both players. Palacios made five senior appearances for Madrid as a substitute and has represented Spain at under-20 level.
