Bournemouth have completed the signing of right-back Juanlu Sánchez from Sevilla in a deal worth up to £11.1m.
The 22-year-old joins with more than 100 senior appearances to his name and experience in the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and La Liga. He also won Olympic gold with Spain in 2024, scoring the semi-final winner against Morocco before helping defeat France in the final.
Juanlu said he and his family were eager to make the move and that he’s proud to become a Bournemouth player.
The fee is an initial £9.4m with a further £1.7m in potential add-ons, according to BBC Sport.
Tiago Pinto, the club’s president of football operations, praised Juanlu’s level of experience at a young age and his consistency in domestic and European competitions, adding that his hunger to improve will benefit Marco Rose’s squad.
Juanlu is Bournemouth’s third arrival of the summer, following Antonio Silva from Benfica and striker Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche, both for £25.7m.
Marco Rose is now targeting a backup goalkeeper capable of challenging Djordje Petrovic as Bournemouth prepare for their first-ever Europa League campaign.
Sevilla are interested in striker Enes Ünal, whom Bournemouth are open to selling, though the Turkey international also has options in Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Senior club sources say Eli Junior Kroupi, Rayan and Alex Scott are not for sale.
