PSG complete £8.5m…

France international Lucas Digne has left Aston Villa to rejoin European champions Paris St-Germain on a three-year deal.

The 33-year-old left-back, who moved to Villa from Everton in 2022, previously spent three seasons at PSG early in his career. He returns after eight years in England, with the French club activating an £8.5m release clause.

Digne said he was honoured to come back to PSG and impressed by the club’s evolution. He will compete with first-choice left-back Nuno Mendes.

PSG have won the Champions League in each of the past two seasons, most recently defeating Arsenal on penalties in the 2026 final. Digne made 30 appearances in his first spell with PSG before joining Barcelona in 2016.

He helped Villa win last season’s Europa League—their first major trophy since 1996—and becomes the third senior departure this summer, following Morgan Rogers to Chelsea and Youri Tielemans to Manchester United.
