Heart of Midlothian have reached an agreement to sell Greek winger Alexandros Kyziridis to an undisclosed Turkish club for about £1.7m.
The 25-year-old arrived at Tynecastle last summer from Zemplín Michalovce on a three-year deal and has drawn interest from several sides over the close season. Speaking after Sunday’s 4-0 win against Dundee United, head coach Wouter Vrancken said the club had accepted an offer, calling it a strong outcome for both Hearts and the player. He noted Kyziridis joined for nothing and leaves for a significant fee, adding that the focus now turns to those still in the squad and wishing the winger well.
Kyziridis made an early impact as a key attacking option under Derek McInnes during Hearts’ push for a historic league title. He finished last season with six goals and 11 assists in 42 appearances and made his Greece debut in a summer friendly against Italy. After featuring in Lisbon versus Benfica last week, he will now travel to Turkey to complete the move.
With support from data-led recruitment partner Jamestown Analytics, Hearts have already added wide options this summer, including Josh McPake and Calvin Miller, the latter featuring prominently in the campaign’s opening stages.
