Sevilla are close to sealing a move for Scotland Under-21 striker Robbie Ure from Swedish leaders IK Sirius in a deal worth up to €9.2m (£7.9m).
The 22-year-old is due to undergo a medical on Monday and is ready to sign a five-year contract, with the Spanish club offering him the chance to spearhead their attack at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.
Sevilla will pay €6.5m (£5.5m) initially, with the rest tied to add-ons.
“We are currently in final negotiations with a foreign club and, as a result, Robbie is not eligible for tomorrow’s match against Brommapojkarna,” Sirius sporting director Jonathan Ederström said on the club’s website.
Ure has attracted interest across Europe after hitting 20 goals and supplying three assists in 20 games in all competitions this season.
He started out at Rangers, scoring once in three senior appearances, then moved to Anderlecht in 2023, where he featured just once for the first team. His career has surged in Sweden: since joining Sirius a year ago, he has produced 31 goals and seven assists in 50 matches.
His 15 league goals have helped Sirius open a 13-point lead at the top of the Allsvenskan at the season’s halfway stage.
The Scotland youth international, who is also eligible for Ukraine, has yet to commit to a senior national team. He told BBC Scotland last month that he intends to wait for a Scotland call-up.
