Crystal Palace is in the final stages of securing a transfer for Real Salt Lake winger Zavier Gozo, as confirmed by a source to ESPN. The deal will see Palace pay RSL a fee of $15 million for Gozo’s contract, while RSL will retain a 20% share and a 25% sell-on clause for any future transfers involving the player.
The Athletic was the first to report the impending transfer of Gozo to the London club.
At just 19 years old, Gozo is being recognized as a promising talent in U.S. soccer.
This season, Gozo has made an impact by scoring six goals and providing five assists, earning him a spot on the MLS All-Star team. A product of RSL’s academy, he has appeared in 50 games across all competitions, contributing 10 goals and eight assists.
On the international stage, Gozo was part of the U.S. U20 team that advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, where he scored the opening goal in a 3-0 victory against France.
His talent in the attack led him to make a late bid for a spot in the U.S. World Cup squad last summer, although he ultimately did not make it. He is expected to receive a call-up later this year as manager Mauricio Pochettino aims to refresh the squad at the start of the new World Cup cycle.
Under the guidance of manager Pierre Sage, Crystal Palace has seen several notable players leave over the past year, including defender Marc Guéhi to Manchester City, midfielder Eberechi Eze to Arsenal, and defender Maxence Lacroix to Chelsea.
U.S. defender Chris Richards remains an important player for the Premier League squad.
