Nobbs believes an excess of draws stalled Newcastle last season, but after a busy transfer window they’re now openly chasing bigger ambitions.
She says the team is progressing under head coach Tanya Oxtoby, the former Northern Ireland manager who also worked alongside Emma Hayes at Chelsea.
Nobbs added that, while similar points were made last year, real change takes time and the squad went through a lot of adjustments.
Promotion remains the target, she insists, and it should be declared plainly—without straying too far from the foundations laid last season.
Off the pitch, Nobbs is embracing a leadership role, noting her team-mates joke that she’s a “legend” of the women’s game.
She aims to stay true to herself while sharing her experience, saying she’s played enough games for her perspective to be valuable.
Those “legend” jokes, she says, created a positive, relaxed feeling rather than pressure.
That helped her step into the role, while keeping a balance—she still has to perform on the pitch.
