Rangers have signed right-back Kosta Nedeljkovic on a season-long loan from Aston Villa, with manager Derek McInnes prioritising the addition of a striker next.
The Ibrox side hold an obligation to buy, subject to conditions, for the 20-year-old Serbian, who joined Villa from Red Star Belgrade in the summer of 2024 and then spent back-to-back loan spells at RB Leipzig.
McInnes described Nedeljkovic as an athletic, energetic full-back who loves to get forward but is equally committed to defending, saying he will strengthen a key area of the squad.
He added that the defender has already gained valuable experience at a high level in England and Germany and has also represented Serbia.
With Nedeljkovic and James Penrice arriving, McInnes believes the full-back positions now have greater depth, allowing the focus to turn to the attack.
He acknowledged more work is needed in the final third, noting that forwards are often the hardest to secure, but said the right additions could reshape the team’s overall dynamic.
