USMNTs Pepi and Dest…

The United States pair, Ricardo Pepi and Sergiño Dest, both contributed to the scoreboard as PSV Eindhoven secured a 5-1 victory against Groningen in their latest Eredivisie match on Sunday.

Groningen initially took the lead with a goal from Brynjólfur Willumsson, but an own goal by Thijmen Blokzijl leveled the score after just 11 minutes. Subsequently, Ivan Perisic put PSV ahead with a goal in the 35th minute.

Just before halftime, Pepi, representing the USMNT, extended the lead to 3-0 with a penalty.

Perisic scored again in the 53rd minute, and Dest added a fifth goal just three minutes later.

Both Pepi and Dest, who played for the U.S. at the recent home World Cup, have returned to their club commitments in the Netherlands. After three matches, PSV currently sits in third place in the league standings, while AZ Alkmaar leads the Eredivisie with a perfect record of nine points.

PSV’s next match will be on Sunday as they travel to face Utrecht.
