Sávio has officially signed with Tottenham, transferring from Manchester City for a fee that can reach £85 million ($116 million).
The Spurs had been targeting Sávio for over a year, having first expressed interest in the player last summer.
“It’s taken some time, but I’m thrilled to be here,” Sávio remarked.
“This is a fantastic chance at an incredible club with one of the best managers in the game.”
“After speaking with the head coach, I knew I had to come here. He shared his vision of helping me reach my fullest potential, and I believe we can achieve great things as a team.”
While playing at Manchester City, the 22-year-old was often called ‘Savinho‘ (a nickname derived from his full name, Sávio Moreira de Oliveira), which appeared on his jerseys.
At Tottenham, he will simply be known as Sávio.
Sporting Director Johan Lange stated, “Sávio is a player we’ve been monitoring for some time, and I’m excited that he’s joining Tottenham Hotspur.”
“He has demonstrated his talent at the highest level, and we believe his skill set, playing style, and mindset will complement the squad we are assembling here.”

Head Coach Roberto De Zerbi commented, “Sávio is a player full of energy, creativity, and quality on the wings. He possesses the bravery to take on defenders and has the capability to alter the outcome of a match with his innovative play.”

During his tenure at Man City, Sávio made 53 appearances, scoring two goals and providing 12 assists, having transferred from Troyes in 2024.
This deal has pushed Spurs’ summer spending beyond £300 million ($408.9 million), which includes signings such as Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke, in addition to free-agent signings like Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson, and Martin Dúbravka.
Tottenham have also seen significant income from player sales, including the exits of Cristian Romero, Djed Spence, and Luka Vuskovic.

Sávio’s addition strengthens Spurs’ attacking options, which were somewhat limited in their Premier League opener against Brentford last weekend, where 19-year-old academy product Mikey Moore started as right-winger.
Moreover, sources indicate that Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush is also expected to join Tottenham from Manchester City.
