Al Hilal is nearing a deal to acquire Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli in a transfer potentially valued at €65 million ($76 million), according to sources from ESPN Brazil.

Martinelli has been proposed a four-year contract with the Saudi Pro League club, with negotiations now moving into the document exchange phase.

Mikel Arteta addressed the player’s future during a news conference on Thursday.

“Everybody knows how much we value Gabi, and no matter the outcome, it reflects our mutual agreement,” said the Spanish manager.

“We have communicated openly, and I believe we understand each other well. The discussions have brought me a sense of satisfaction.

“However, it is unavoidable to discuss some tough topics.”

Sources indicate that the attractive quality of life and financial offer from Al Hilal currently give the Saudi club an edge over competing offers.

Martinelli’s family and representatives are weighing their options but are receptive to a potential move to the Middle East. He has already turned down an offer from Turkish club Galatasaray.

The 25-year-old joined Arsenal in 2019 and is contracted until June 2027. Last season, he made 61 appearances for both club and country, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists.
