Cody Gakpo: Deployed on the right and looked bright. Slipped a fine pass to Wirtz and later fashioned a good opening for Victor Munoz. Switched off defensively for Forest’s first, but superbly created Alexander Isak’s equaliser. Rating: 7

Florian Wirtz: A constant menace and unfortunate not to score—one tidy finish was chalked off for Frimpong’s offside and Sels tipped over his strong header. Teed up Munoz’s goal. Rating: 7

Victor Munoz: First Liverpool start on his favoured left. Direct and positive, had a penalty appeal waved away, and should have worked Sels with a first-half effort he put wide. Smashed in a stunning leveller in front of the Kop to earn a point. Rating: 7
