Manchester United’s captain, Bruno Fernandes, is about as close to the perfect FPL pick as you’ll find: he’s the focal point of their attack, takes set-pieces, stays fit, plays most minutes, and scores reliably.
He’s a better overall option than Cole Palmer (£9.6m) or Bukayo Saka (£9.5m), but he does come at a higher price.
Since captaincy is crucial, plan ahead. If you’re unlikely to captain Fernandes soon but would regularly give the armband to Palmer or Saka, switching could be the smarter move.
Also note that Chelsea and Arsenal have several strong FPL options, whereas at United, Fernandes is the standout choice by some distance.
