Parisian native Naomie Feller found the net, assisting Real Madrid in securing a 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain, marking their second win in the Champions League and extending PSG’s losing streak to four matches in the tournament.
Feller scored off a cross from Yasmim during Madrid’s first shot on target in the 29th minute. Shortly before halftime, Alba Redondo increased Madrid’s lead by converting a rebound. She now has three goals in two Champions League matches this season, totaling six goals in eight career appearances.
Rasheedat Ajibade scored for PSG in the 58th minute, but Madrid successfully fended off late attacks to secure their first-ever Champions League victory against a French club.
Real Madrid now joins fellow Spanish sides Barcelona, Manchester United, Wolfsburg, and Lyonnes as one of five teams that have won both of their opening matches in the newly restructured league phase.
PSG has taken 33 shots in their first two games but has only managed to score once, leaving them currently out of the top 12 positions required for advancement to the knockout stages.
In another match, Bayern Munich bounced back from a heavy 7-1 defeat to Barcelona with a 2-1 win over Juventus. The victory was confirmed following a lengthy video review that substantiated their stoppage-time winner.
To the dismay of Juventus players, the review showed that Lea Schüller‘s shot had indeed crossed the line before defender Mathilde Harviken could clear it away.
Pernille Harder opened the scoring for Bayern in the 11th minute, but Juventus’s Eva Schatzer equalized just six minutes later.
