TRENDING RUMORS
– Manchester United might land
Robert Lewandowski
as a free agent if his contract expires, according to The Daily Star. However, Blaugrana has an option for a one-year extension. Concerns about the 37-year-old’s ability to fit into their pressing system could impact the decision. Lewandowski may also be eyeing a move to MLS before retiring, with Inter Miami linked to him.
– Manchester United is also looking to join Manchester City and Chelsea in pursuing
Elliot Anderson
from Nottingham Forest, as reported by The Mirror. United has also been scouting Brighton & Hove Albion‘s Carlos Baleba and Crystal Palace‘s Adam Wharton as midfield targets, but they are particularly keen on the 22-year-old Anderson. Nottingham Forest values Anderson at £75 million as they aim to hold onto the England international amidst increasing interest.
– Borussia Dortmund‘s standout striker
Serhou Guirassy
has a release clause that lowers the fixed €50 million fee annually, as reported by Bild. However, this clause is limited to select clubs, such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool. Clubs from other leagues would need to offer €80 million to secure his transfer. Barcelona is reportedly eyeing Guirassy as a potential replacement for Lewandowski.
– Neymar had hoped to secure a significant transfer to boost his chances of joining Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad for the 2026 World Cup, but interest from European clubs has not materialized. Sport reports that Neymar’s only options now are a six-month contract extension or a move to MLS, where he could reunite with Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez at Inter Miami, which will soon have two free Designated Player spots available from the retirements of Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.
– Clubs including Juventus, AC Milan, and Atlético Madrid are tracking
Iliman Ndiaye
, a winger from Everton, according to TEAMtalk. Premier League teams like Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are also interested in the 25-year-old, with a transfer offer possibly made as early as January. However, Everton will demand over £60 million to discuss his transfer.
EXPERT TAKE
Mark Ogden from ESPN comments on Manchester United’s interest in Robert Lewandowski.
In the summer of 2012, Lewandowski nearly joined Manchester United after speaking with Sir Alex Ferguson, who ultimately opted for Robin van Persie from Arsenal instead.
This missed opportunity may remain the closest Lewandowski gets to wearing a United jersey as it seems highly unlikely he will be seen in Manchester’s red next summer.
Despite his remarkable talent, the 37-year-old Lewandowski’s age and salary demands could be prohibitive for United, as the club has shifted away from investing heavily in players past their prime.
With United having signed Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig for €85 million this past summer as their long-term forward, their focus next summer will likely be on acquiring a box-to-box midfielder.
Thus, it may be premature to purchase a Lewandowski jersey at Old Trafford.
