Ramsey Exits Pumas After…

Wales international Aaron Ramsey has officially ended his contract with Liga MX club Pumas due to a recent muscle injury, according to sources from ESPN Mexico.

At 34 years old, Ramsey has not featured for Pumas since September and made only six appearances since his arrival in July.

His time on the pitch was hampered by recovery from hamstring surgery earlier this year.

Initially viewed as a marquee summer signing for Liga MX, the midfielder managed just three starts.

With Ramsey’s departure, Pumas, currently in 13th place, will be looking to break into the top 10 and secure a playoff spot with just two games remaining in the 2025 Apertura.

Off the field, Ramsey is also coping with a personal issue concerning the disappearance of his dog, Halo. He has taken to social media multiple times in an effort to find his pet and has been unavailable to report to Pumas while searching for Halo in Guanajuato.

Ramsey joined Pumas as a free agent after concluding his second stint with his hometown club, Cardiff City. During his 11 years at Arsenal, he won the FA Cup three times before moving to Juventus, where he also claimed a Serie A title.

He has earned 86 caps for Wales and was recently named in the national squad after a 13-month hiatus before he had to withdraw due to his injury.

Contributions to this report were made by ESPN’s Fernando Villa and Adriana Maldonado.
