Diallo: Man Utd Frustrated…

Amad Diallo’s frustration at not achieving a fourth consecutive victory was evident as the Manchester United player pledged to keep striving to elevate the club back to its rightful place.

Following a dismal 2024/25 season and a slow start to the current campaign, the Red Devils found their form in October with wins over Sunderland, arch-rivals Liverpool, and Brighton.

As November commenced, United aimed to build on that momentum against Nottingham Forest, but had to settle for a 2-2 draw after squandering a lead gained through a controversially-awarded corner converted by Casemiro.

Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolò Savona scored swiftly at the start of the second half, but Diallo later struck a brilliant volley to equalize, only to see a late effort cleared off the line.

“Honestly, we are really disappointed to leave with just one point,” the Ivory Coast international stated.

“We were in a good moment, with three consecutive wins. We wanted the fourth, but we can learn from this and aim to perform better next time.”

United manager Ruben Amorim believes the team has already taken valuable lessons from this match, noting a mentality shift within the squad that may have led to a different outcome last season.

“Winning games always boosts players’ confidence,” Diallo explained regarding the team’s resilience. “I think everyone is in good form right now.”

“As a team, we are growing every day with the manager, Ruben, because we trust his approach.”

“But today, we are genuinely disappointed because we hold ourselves to high standards.”

Diallo is flourishing in the right wing-back role under Amorim, who recently marked a year in charge at United.

When asked if the club has made considerable progress under the Portuguese manager, he replied, “Absolutely. It wasn’t easy initially for him or for us.”

“But that was just the beginning. Now we are trying to grasp the system and deliver our best performance each game.”

“We aim to win every match because we want to restore this club to where it rightfully belongs.”

This season has indeed seen United improve significantly, thanks in part to a summer overhaul that introduced players like Bryan Mbeumo, with whom Diallo is forming a strong bond both on and off the field.

“We have a great relationship, especially since he speaks French,” he said of the Cameroon forward.

“We aim to build that connection, both on the pitch and off it, to enhance our teamwork.”

“He’s a good and humble guy who works very hard in training, and we strive to perform at our best on the right side.”

United are now preparing for their match against Tottenham next Saturday, where Diallo emphasized the importance of maintaining focus until the final whistle to get back to winning form.

Forest, on the other hand, will host Leeds at the City Ground next Sunday, having continued their Europa League campaign with a match away to Sturm Graz on Thursday, with goalscorer Savona aiming for further progress.

“We had a good victory against Porto, but we must work harder to keep winning in both the Europa League and the Premier League,” the defender remarked.

“That’s the mentality we need to have.”
