Lucy Bronze, a defender for Chelsea and the England national team, has made history by becoming the first player ever to appear in the FIFPRO Women’s World 11 eight times, as revealed with the latest award announcements.
Over 6,000 professional women’s footballers participated in the worldwide vote to determine the team of the year.
With her inclusion, Bronze surpasses France’s Wendie Renard, who had seven appearances, setting a new record.
This year marks a first as two African players made it into the Women’s World 11: Barbra Banda from the Orlando Pride and Zambia, earning her second spot, and Ghizlane Chebbak, a midfielder from Morocco and Al Hilal, making her debut.
Following their consecutive Euros title win in July, England is the most represented nation in the 2024-25 edition, with six players from the Lionesses recognized.
