Adams Misses Bournemouth…

Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams will be unavailable for the Premier League match against Manchester United this Friday, as confirmed by manager Andoni Iraola following Adams’ quadriceps injury.

“Tyler won’t be available, as you would expect, since he hasn’t featured in the U.S. squad,” said Iraola at a press conference on Thursday.

Adams, who captained the U.S. at the 2022 World Cup, also missed Bournemouth’s match against Burnley last Saturday.

On Tuesday, U.S. coach Mauricio Pochettino excluded Adams from the call-up for upcoming friendly matches against Belgium and Portugal. Pochettino stated that the midfielder is expected to be out for two to three weeks due to his quadriceps injury.

Bournemouth has only stated that Adams “picked up an injury issue” before their game against Burnley.

Previously, Adams suffered a torn MCL on December 15 and was predicted to be out for two to three months. Yet, he made his return to the pitch on February 12 in a 0-0 draw against West Ham United before facing this latest setback.

After friendly matches against Belgium and Portugal, the U.S. will finalize its World Cup preparations with games against Senegal and Germany on May 31 and June 6, respectively.

Pochettino’s team will kick off their World Cup campaign against Paraguay on June 12 in Inglewood, California.
