Benjamin Sesko is expected to return to action “very soon” from his knee injury at Manchester United and is “impatient” to showcase his skills at Old Trafford, according to his agent, Elvis Basanovic.

The 22-year-old forward has not played since sustaining a knee injury during United’s 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on November 8. Since then, he has missed four Premier League matches for Ruben Amorim’s squad.

Having joined from RB Leipzig for £74 million ($98m) this summer, Sesko has managed to score twice in 11 Premier League games thus far. However, his continued absence could be further complicated by the upcoming departure of teammates Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo, who will be heading off for Africa Cup of Nations duty after next Monday’s home match against AFC Bournemouth.

While coach Amorim has not provided a precise timeline for Sesko’s return to the first team, Basanovic indicated that the striker is nearing full fitness.

“Benjamin is feeling great; his rehabilitation is progressing well,” Basanovic commented to Slovenian broadcaster Arena Sport. “He is very eager to get back on the pitch since he misses playing.”

“He feels the absence of games and is somewhat impatient, so we hope he can return soon to where he feels most at ease.”

“It’s tough to say exactly when he will be back; that largely depends on the medical team and the coach.”

“However, I believe we will see him on the field very soon, possibly even sooner than expected.”

Sesko joined Old Trafford this summer alongside forwards Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha as part of a complete overhaul of United’s attack.

Despite a slow start in terms of goal-scoring, Basanovic reassured that the young forward has Amorim’s full support.

“I have to say that Amorim has welcomed Benjamin exceptionally well,” Basanovic stated. “Ruben is an excellent person with fantastic charisma and great emotional intelligence. He knows what he is doing.”

“I believe he is facing a challenging situation. Building such a project requires a lot of knowledge and intelligence.”

“United is among the biggest clubs globally, if not the biggest, and people often overlook the necessity for time in such scenarios.”

“Every team in development needs time. Look at Cunha, Mbeumo, and Sesko; they haven’t played many matches together yet, and they need that experience to build chemistry.”

“Once they develop that understanding, it becomes easier as they won’t have to think about each other’s runs. Then, results will improve, and everything will appear better.”

“Amorim is a very honest man with good intentions, and he is extremely professional. He has a vision for elevating United to the top, but he definitely needs time.”

“It’s tough to communicate this in a large club where instant results are expected, especially at Manchester United.”
