Allen: Miami’s Season…

Inter Miami CF defender Noah Allen has stated that the team approaches the MLS Cup playoffs with lofty aspirations, asserting that failing to win the championship would be deemed a failure.

“If we don’t win the MLS Cup, it’s definitely a failure. We hold ourselves to high standards,” Allen remarked.

“We aim to win every trophy available. Our goal is clear: we want to win.”

Inter Miami finished the regular season strong, securing third place in the Eastern Conference with 65 points, and will face Nashville SC in a best-of-three Round One playoff series.

The Herons will host Nashville at Chase Stadium for the opening match on Friday night, having earned home-field advantage for a potential deciding game based on their final standings.

“I’m really looking forward to the playoffs. I have full confidence in my team; we have the best of all time, and we’re all very excited,” said Rodrigo De Paul.

“However, football doesn’t always reward the best team or the one most deserving of victory. We must minimize luck’s role and work tirelessly to ensure the playoffs go our way.”

Inter Miami is well-acquainted with their Round One opponent, having concluded the regular season with a dominant 5-2 victory over Nashville on October 18. Now, they prepare for at least two more encounters against the same team.

Lionel Messi, who scored a hat trick in that final match to secure the 2025 MLS Golden Boot, missed Tuesday’s training due to minor back discomfort. Nevertheless, sources indicate he is expected to return to training on Wednesday, aiming to play a crucial role in the first game at Chase Stadium.

After being knocked out in the first round of the playoffs in 2024, the team is fiercely motivated this year.

“I believe we have a strong bond as a team, and we play good football while maintaining possession. We must believe that we are the best team in the league,” Allen explained.

“It’s not about urgency or panic; it’s more about motivation, especially for the returning players from last year. Everyone remembers our last playoff experience.”

“It’s been a clear message that winning two games is critical, regardless of any traditional views. We need to perform.”
