Amad Diallo has expressed that the entire Manchester United squad would be pleased to have Michael Carrick continue as head coach next season.
After taking over mid-season following Ruben Amorim’s departure in January, the 44-year-old has impressively led the team to secure Champions League qualification with three matches remaining.
Kobbie Mainoo is one of several players who have thrived under Carrick’s leadership, with the revitalized talent stating that the squad “wants to die for” their coach after United’s recent 3-2 win over fierce rivals Liverpool.
Additionally, Matheus Cunha and outgoing Casemiro have also supported his candidacy, alongside Amad, who previously stated he believed Carrick was the “right man” for the job just a month ago.
“Ultimately, it’s not up to the players to decide who stays, but I can say that everyone is happy to have him as our manager,” the United winger shared with Sky Sports. “We all support him.
“He has built a strong relationship with every player, and we’re genuinely pleased to have him leading us. We would be thrilled if he remained as manager next season.”
Amad is relishing his time under Carrick, who has commended the winger for his work ethic and contributions, even though he hasn’t scored or assisted since Carrick’s appointment.
The support he receives from Carrick is valuable to the Ivory Coast international, who noted, “Even when things get tough, he’s always there to talk to you and offer his assistance.”

“I believe one significant change is that the team has become more cohesive,” Amad added. “In the dressing room, we are united.
“Every mistake is not seen as an issue; if one person makes a mistake, it’s shared among us. We focus on moving forward together, aiming to win as a collective.
“This shift has transformed the team dynamic, and I attribute much of this to Michael Carrick and his coaching staff—especially Trav [coach Travis Binnion] and the rest.
“Their influence and energy have been crucial for us, and it makes a real difference.”
