Arsenal have completed the free transfer of Germany striker Selina Cerci from Hoffenheim.
The 26-year-old, who has played her entire career in the Frauen-Bundesliga, netted 34 goals in 47 games for Hoffenheim and helped them secure fourth place in 2025-26.
Cerci has 20 international caps and five goals for Germany and is expected to help cover the loss of Beth Mead, who joined Women’s Super League champions Manchester City earlier this summer.
BBC Sport reports Cerci has agreed a two-year contract with an option for an additional 12 months.
“It is a big honour for me,” Cerci said. “It didn’t matter which other clubs were interested in me – I wanted to play for Arsenal.”
After prolific spells with Werder Bremen and Turbine Potsdam, Cerci suffered a cruciate ligament injury in March 2022 that ruled her out of the Women’s Euros that year and the World Cup the following summer.
She later joined Hoffenheim via FC Köln and rediscovered her form, twice finishing runner-up in the league scoring charts with 16 goals.
“She’s an instinctive goalscorer with a proven record in the Bundesliga,” said Clare Wheatley, Arsenal’s director of women’s football. “We believe she’s in a strong position to transition to English football.”
Last season, Cerci also broadened her output with nine league assists — joint-second most in the division — matching new Arsenal team-mate Georgia Stanway, then at Bayern Munich.
“[Selina] has impressive goalscoring numbers and brings good presence, physicality and forward intent,” added head coach Renee Slegers. “Combined with her strong work ethic, we feel these qualities make her a great addition to our squad.”
