Aston Villa has confirmed the signing of winger Alysson Edward from Grêmio.
According to ESPN’s report last month, Villa made a bid for the 19-year-old Brazilian who featured in 31 matches in the Brazilian Serie A last season as Grêmio secured a ninth-place finish.
During the 2025 season, he netted one goal and provided two assists after making his debut the previous year.
Alysson strengthens Villa’s attacking lineup, joining players like Ollie Watkins, Morgan Rogers, and Jadon Sancho.
This transfer marks Unai Emery’s first acquisition of the January transfer window.
Aston Villa is currently positioned third in the Premier League and will face Nottingham Forest at home on January 3.
