Bayern Munich netted two late goals to eliminate the record 15-time European champions, Real Madrid, from the Champions League with a thrilling 4-3 victory at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.
Tempers flared at the end of the quarterfinal second leg, as Madrid players expressed their anger at referee Slavko Vinčić’s decision to send off Eduardo Camavinga for a second yellow card after a seemingly minor foul on Harry Kane in the 86th minute, a decision influenced by the Bayern players.
Luis Díaz scored just three minutes later, slotting the ball inside the right post, and Michael Olise sealed the match with a stoppage-time shot off the far post, granting Bayern a 6-4 aggregate win after they secured a 2-1 victory in the first leg in Madrid.
Following the match, Madrid’s players confronted Vinčić. Arda Güler, who scored two spectacular goals to ignite Madrid’s hopes of a comeback, received a red card for his aggressive protests.

Kylian Mbappé also scored in a frantic first half that concluded with a 3-2 lead for Madrid. Bayern’s Aleksandar Pavlović and Harry Kane, who recorded his 50th goal of the season for Bayern, were on target for the German side.
Bayern will face Paris Saint-Germain in the semifinals, marking their 14th appearance in the last four, second only to Madrid’s 17.
This triumph also ended Bayern’s streak of four consecutive losses to Madrid in the Champions League knockout rounds, while it marked the first time the Spanish giants have exited the quarterfinals in back-to-back seasons.
In Munich, Güler opened the scoring just 34 seconds into the match due to a blunder by Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer—who was outstanding in the first leg—when his attempted pass went directly to the 21-year-old Turkish player, who wasted no time firing into the empty net from outside the box.
Bayern showed no signs of worry, as Pavlović leveled the score with a close-range header from a Joshua Kimmich corner kick in the sixth minute, assuming control of the game while Madrid sought counterattacks.
Konrad Laimer effectively blocked Mbappé, who had a bandage over his right eye from a blow he received the previous weekend.
Güler beautifully converted a free kick in the 29th minute, though Bayern had valid claims that it should never have been awarded after Brahim Díaz went down from minimal contact with Laimer.
Bayern regained control, culminating in Kane’s equalizer in the 38th minute, finding the net inside the right post after being left unmarked by English compatriot Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Vinícius Júnior hit the crossbar before assisting Mbappé, who restored Madrid’s lead in the 42nd minute.
However, the excitement continued until the final moments of the match.
