Bayern Star Gnabry Set to…

Bayern Munich winger Germany international Serge Gnabry has revealed he will not be participating in this summer’s World Cup.

On Saturday, Bayern Munich announced that Gnabry has suffered a torn adductor muscle in his right thigh, leading to a prolonged recovery period that casts doubt on his ability to join the team for the finals.

The beer shower can wait, but this Bayern side deserves to be celebrated

The 30-year-old confirmed that he will have to watch the tournament from the sidelines.

“The last few days have been challenging to process,” he shared on Instagram. “A Bayern season that still has much at stake after clinching another Bundesliga title this past weekend.”

“As far as the World Cup dream with Germany goes… that’s sadly over for me. Like everyone else in the country, I’ll be cheering for the team from home.”

“Now, it’s time to focus on my recovery and prepare for pre-season.”

The former Arsenal player participated in every World Cup qualifier for Germany and played in two friendlies in March, making him a likely candidate for coach Julian Nagelsmann’s squad heading into the tournament in Mexico, Canada, and the United States.

Following their Bundesliga triumph on Sunday, Bayern will face Bayer Leverkusen away in the German Cup semifinals on Wednesday, followed by a Champions League semifinal clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

Gnabry has contributed a notable eight goals and assisted seven more as Bayern set a record for the most goals scored in a Bundesliga season.
