Bee-autiful! Haaland…

Manchester City has unveiled its new away kit for the 2026-27 season, generating a significant buzz—if you’ll pardon the pun.

This design pays homage to the worker bee, a symbol of Manchester’s industrious history. The bee has featured prominently on the Manchester coat of arms since 1842, similar to the trade ship that has represented the club since the 1890s.

The jersey boasts a black and yellow color scheme, adorned with a pattern of busy bees throughout the fabric.

With a Premier League title to reclaim and domestic cups to defend, City hopes that the Enzo Maresca era will be marked by the same dedication, energy, and teamwork synonymous with the industrious insect.

In recent years, City has drawn inspiration for its kits from a variety of unique sources, including Oasis album covers, the Hacienda nightclub, rusty shipping canal bridges, and even the iconic Mancunian drizzle. In this light, the latest design feels relatively straightforward.

This isn’t the first time the bee motif has been used for an away kit; the 2009-10 Umbro shirt featured a similar yellow and black design as a tribute to the industrious insect.

The new away kit is set to make its debut during the club’s upcoming preseason tour in Asia. This tour includes three matches, starting with a friendly against Inter Milan in Hong Kong on Saturday, followed by consecutive games against a K League All-Stars team and Atlético Madrid in Seoul.

The bee-themed jersey will be officially launched in Hong Kong at a special event on The Harbour Pitch—a unique floating football venue currently situated in Victoria Harbour—before being worn in action against Inter on August 1.
