The Ukrainian international made an extraordinary impact by scoring a last-gasp header in the 98th minute, sealing a thrilling 4-2 win that ensured Benfica’s qualification for the Champions League playoffs.
Having joined Benfica in August 2023 from Shakhtar Donetsk—18 months after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine—Trubin expressed his emotions post-match, stating, “For Ukraine. For those who know how to fight till the end.”
