Brazil Extends Ancelottis…

Carlo Ancelotti has extended his tenure as the coach of Brazil for another four years, securing his position through to the 2030 World Cup.

The 66-year-old Italian, who took over the national team in May 2025 after departing from Real Madrid, had hinted that an extension was imminent and officially confirmed it in a video released by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on Thursday.

This announcement comes just before Ancelotti is set to unveil his squad for the upcoming World Cup on Monday.

“I arrived in Brazil a year ago, and from the very first moment, I grasped what football signifies to this country,” Ancelotti stated on the CBF website.

“Over the past year, we have been striving to return the Brazilian national team to the pinnacle of the world, but the CBF and I desire even more—greater victories, more time, and further dedication.”

“We are thrilled to announce that our journey will continue for another four years, leading us to the 2030 World Cup.”

“I extend my gratitude to the CBF for their trust and thank Brazil for the warm welcome and affection.”

CBF president Samir Xaud described Ancelotti’s contract renewal as “a historic day” for Brazilian football.

“The extension of Carlo Ancelotti’s contract marks a significant step in our commitment to providing our five-time world champion national team with a robust, modern, and competitive framework,” he remarked.

The former coach of Chelsea, AC Milan, and Paris Saint-Germain has faced challenges in Brazil, contending with numerous injuries and uncertainties regarding his team’s ability to be a serious title contender at the North American tournament. Under Ancelotti’s guidance, Brazil holds a record of five wins, three losses, and two draws in ten matches.

He succeeded Dorival Júnior last year after a series of disappointing performances and had to work quickly to complete the South American World Cup qualifying process.

Brazil has been placed in Group C, alongside Scotland, Morocco, and Haiti, as Ancelotti aims to lead them to their first World Cup victory since 2002.
