Brazils Neymar: I Might…

Brazil forward Neymar revealed that he is “living year to year” as he contemplates retirement at the close of the season.

The 34-year-old currently represents his youth club Santos, having transitioned from Saudi club Al Hilal last year. He has aspirations to play for Brazil in this summer’s World Cup.

Having dealt with significant injury issues recently, including a knee concern, Neymar is committed to Santos through the end of 2026.

“I don’t know what will happen from now on, or where I’ll be next year,” he shared with Brazilian channel Caze.

“By December, I might feel ready to retire. I’m taking it year by year now.

“We’ll see what my heart decides. It all depends on how I feel later this year.

“This year holds great significance, not just for Santos but for the Brazilian national team, especially since it’s a World Cup year. I aim to play at my best throughout the season.”

Neymar recently made his comeback after undergoing minor knee surgery in December, playing off the bench in a 6-0 victory against Velo Clubeto, which advanced Santos to the quarterfinals of the Campeonato Paulista.

The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star is Brazil’s all-time leading scorer with 79 goals in 128 appearances and has participated in three World Cups.
