England international Lucy Bronze has signed a new Chelsea contract running until 2027.
The defender joined from Barcelona ahead of the 2024/25 season and has since become integral to Sonia Bompastor’s side, making 56 appearances, scoring five goals and helping the club collect four trophies across two campaigns.
Bronze said the shift to Stamford Bridge makes this an especially exciting period for the team. She feels extending her stay is the right step, has enjoyed her two years back in England with Chelsea, and believes the club is moving forward.
For England, Bronze has 148 caps and 22 goals since her debut in June 2013. She played a major role in the Euro 2022 and Euro 2025 title wins, starting all six matches at Euro 2022, scoring in the semi-final against Sweden and featuring in the final versus Germany at Wembley.
