Players chose teams of the year dominated by the champions and runners-up. In the Premier League, Arsenal and Manchester City supplied most of the picks, while the WSL lineup was largely drawn from Man City, Chelsea, and Arsenal.
Arsenal’s stingy defense last season (just 27 goals conceded) is reflected in selections for goalkeeper David Raya and defenders Gabriel, William Saliba, and Jurrien Timber, with Declan Rice also included. Man City contributed four names—Nico O’Reilly, Rayan Cherki, Erling Haaland, and Antoine Semenyo—while Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes and Brentford’s Igor Thiago completed the XI.
The WSL side features three players each from Man City, Chelsea, and Arsenal. The only selections from outside those three clubs are Man United’s Jess Park and Tottenham defender Toko Koga.
