Bruno Fernandes X Account…

Manchester United has issued a statement revealing that their captain, Bruno Fernandes, had his account on the social media platform X compromised on Sunday evening, resulting in a series of strange posts appearing on his profile.

The Portuguese international completed all 90 minutes during Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton in the FA Cup.

Fernandes’ X account, which boasts 4.5 million followers, was hacked shortly after the match, prompting Manchester United to issue a caution to fans.

In their post on X, United warned: “Bruno Fernandes’s X account has been hacked. Supporters should refrain from engaging with any of the posts or direct messages.”

Some of the false content, which has since been removed, addressed United’s challenges and made disparaging comments about INEOS, the firm that co-owns the club with Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Fernandes’ last authentic post was in October, celebrating his 300th appearance for the team.

In the meantime, Sunday’s defeat means United will only play 40 competitive matches this season—the fewest in 111 years.

The Red Devils are currently seeking to appoint an interim head coach following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim last week after 14 months in charge.
