Salah directed his criticism at Carragher during a heated interview on Saturday, stating that Liverpool had omitted him from the starting lineup in consecutive matches.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher responded to Salah’s remarks, labeling the outburst as “disgraceful” and “choreographed” in a pointed critique of the star forward.

After expressing his disappointment at being benched for Liverpool’s 3-3 draw against Leeds, where Salah did not play, he anticipated criticism from Carragher, remarking, “Tomorrow, [former player and now pundit Jamie] Carragher is going to criticize me, but that’s fine.”

This was shortly followed by Liverpool’s announcement that Salah would not be included in the squad for their Champions League match against Internazionale on Tuesday.

Carragher, who made 737 appearances for Liverpool during his 17-year career, did not hold back when discussing the situation on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.

“I found his comments disgraceful. Some analysts might perceive it as an emotional outburst, but I believe it was calculated,” Carragher stated. “Salah only stops in the mix zone when it’s planned with his agent to maximize the impact and enhance his position.”

While defending his criticisms of Salah, Carragher took issue with one specific comment: “The notion that he’s been ‘thrown under the bus’ is ironic. Over the past year, he has thrown the club under the bus multiple times. Instead of helping the team through this difficult phase, he has not stepped up.”

Carragher continued, “Salah has criticized every Liverpool right-back he’s played with over eight years. Imagine being teammates with him. But we accept it because he’s a star, scoring 250 goals and delivering unforgettable moments as a supporter.”

In a further jab, Carragher examined Salah’s international career. “You weren’t a prominent figure before coming to Liverpool, and you haven’t won much with Egypt. Regardless of your status, collaboration with teammates and support from your manager and fans are crucial, something he should remember,” Carragher said. “His comments post-Leeds were very self-centered.”

Salah, who has netted only four goals in 13 Premier League matches this season, participated in training with the first team at the AXA Training Centre on Monday morning. However, the club decided to exclude him from the lineup for Tuesday’s match against Inter at the San Siro.

Sources informed ESPN that this decision was made in consultation with Slot and received the manager’s full endorsement.
