Carrick: Utd not getting…

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has emphasized that his team is not becoming complacent following a successful run that has significantly improved their Champions League qualification prospects. He also praised the contributions of veteran midfielder Casemiro.

Under Carrick’s leadership, United has only experienced one setback— a draw against West Ham on February 10, thanks to a late equalizer from Benjamin Sesko.

A victory against Everton on Monday night would allow United to overtake Chelsea and secure fourth place in the Premier League.

When asked about the possibility of Champions League qualification, Carrick responded, “It’s nice to hear people discussing it, which indicates that we’re in a good position.”

“We’re maintaining a level head and not getting overly excited after a few positive results. While we’re pleased with our current position, we aim to improve further,” Carrick stated.

Carrick highlighted the importance of keeping a positive mindset, acknowledging the potential ahead for the team, but emphasized the need to capitalize on opportunities.

Carrick took charge of United when they were in sixth place, and his tenure has seen a notable turnaround.

A standout player during this period has been Brazilian midfielder Casemiro.

The former Real Madrid star is set to depart United at the end of the season, but Carrick has commended the significant impact he has made.

“Cas has been exceptional both on and off the pitch since my arrival. His experience is invaluable when directed positively,” said Carrick.

“As a senior player, he carries the responsibility of setting an example and mentoring younger teammates, sharing his insights generously. He’s been outstanding in many aspects and a joy to collaborate with. I look forward to working with him for a few more months.”
