Chelsea expected to loan…

Chelsea are considering loan options for Mykhailo Mudryk as he works back to full fitness after roughly 20 months without competitive action.

The 25-year-old Ukraine international hasn’t played a competitive match since November 2024. He received a four-year suspension following a positive test for the banned substance meldonium, but the case has since been resolved through an agreement. He has now returned with substitute appearances in pre-season friendlies against Juventus, AC Milan and Johor Darul Ta’zim during Chelsea’s tour of Asia.

After meetings at the end of the tour, Mudryk agreed to leave on loan before the 1 September transfer deadline. A move to Strasbourg—who share BlueCo ownership with Chelsea—has been proposed, though he would prefer to join another Premier League club. Several other teams are also in the frame, including leading sides in Italy.

Mudryk remains under contract until 2031, having joined from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2023 for an initial £61m.
