Chelsea has issued a warning to fans to exercise “extreme caution” while in Naples after two supporters were hospitalized prior to their Champions League match in the city.
Napoli will face Chelsea at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Wednesday night as both teams compete in the final round of group matches.
“The club is aware of an incident that occurred on Tuesday night in Naples,” Chelsea stated on their official X account.
“Two fans are currently receiving treatment in the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.”
“We urge all supporters to remain vigilant and heed the advice provided before this match.”
Chelsea is aiming to secure a top-eight position in the Champions League group stage, which would guarantee advancement to the round of 16 and help them avoid next month’s playoff round.
