Chelsea winger Alejandro…

Aston Villa have secured Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho on loan until the end of the 2026-27 season.

Chelsea say the move is set to become permanent next summer if specific conditions are met, with the 22-year-old already agreeing a four-year contract at Villa Park. While the details of the obligation-to-buy clause remain undisclosed, it is understood to hinge on factors such as appearances. Chelsea expect the targets to be reached and to receive their £43m valuation.

Garnacho’s exit follows Chelsea’s club-record £117m purchase of Morgan Rogers from Villa on Tuesday. Villa head coach Unai Emery said he was delighted with Garnacho’s arrival, praising his talent and desire to contribute to the project.

The Argentine becomes Villa’s fourth signing of the window, joining Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes and Modou Keba Cisse. Villa’s summer sales are approaching £200m, with Rogers, Youri Tielemans, Donyell Malen, Enzo Barrenechea and Lewis Dobbin among those to depart.

Chelsea are willing to move Garnacho on despite signing him only last September from Manchester United for £40m, a deal that includes a 10% sell-on for United. He scored once in the Premier League for Chelsea, and the arrivals of Rogers and Sporting winger Geovany Quenda have further prompted squad trimming.
